China: The mission outreach in China, as in much of Asia, is not done by missionaries, but by local people and local church planters. The role of LCMS World Mission is primarily as teacher, helper and prayer partner.

Greater China Region EFL Teachers China's rapid development has sparked great interest in the outside world and especially in American culture and English language. Greater China Region English-as-a-Foreign-Language (EFL) volunteers are placed as teachers of conversational English and western culture in teachers' colleges which serve students from rural areas of China. Volunteer EFL teachers can touch the lives of many students who have never before had the opportunity to receive Christian love and witness. Your gift allows such volunteers to continue serving in Asia.

Greater China Region Lay Leaders Training Centers God continues to find a way to build His church in the Greater China region through the hard work of volunteer church workers who have relatively little training. Your gift helps provide facilities for the training of these lay volunteers from China Christian Church in Yunnan and in Hebei Provinces.

Greater China Region Lay Leadership Training Through the proclamation of the Word of Christ, the church in Asia is growing in an astounding way. The need for biblically-trained church workers and leaders is just as astounding. Through this project, LCMS World Mission, in collaboration with its Asian partners, is raising up and training leaders for the church in the rural areas of the Greater China region.
