Giving Opportunities

Germany: Almost 70 percent of the German people are “affiliated” with the Christian church. About 33 percent are Roman Catholic; another 34 percent belong to various Protestant denominations. The majority of churches have lost their purpose and identity. Twenty-seven percent of the population is classified as “non-religious.”

European Volunteer Support
Your gift provides the resources to help volunteer missionaries in Europe with such events as retreats, visits and guest visitors. You will help reach about 2,000 youth and 200 national staff with the Gospel. Volunteer missionaries, working as EFL teachers in select Lutheran Schools as well in certain congregations, provide a strong Christian witness to the youth in the region.

Germany Frankfurt International Congregation
LCMS World Mission supports the ministry of several "international" or "expatriate" congregations around the world. These congregations generally minister in English to the expatriate community in the area. Many of these congregations need support, due to the nature of the high-mobility membership. Expatriates usually do not stay in the community and church.

Germany Kuekes Support
Katie Kuekes serves as a GEO missionary—specifically as a communication specialist—through LCMS World Mission. She is based in Germany, but travels throughout Europe and the former Soviet Union to assist missionaries in communicating more effectively with their North American congregations and to document the work of LCMS World Mission in this region. As part of this work, Katie produces short films and takes photos to elaborate on missionaries’ work. Your support will help Katie continue to document and share the good news about how God is moving in these countries!

Germany Lindsey Support
Wallace (Rob) and Gerlinde Lindsey are currently serving as LCMS missionaries based in Germany. Rob and Gerlinde are the volunteer coordinators for Eurasia. They visit, advise, and train long-term missionaries in Hungary, Poland, England, Lithuania, and Slovakia. In addition, Rob serves as co-director of the International Lutheran Society of Wittenberg in Germany. Your gift of financial support to the Lindseys ensures that LCMS missionaries in Eurasia receive the support an spiritual care that they need to stay strong in their faith and shine before their students and friends.

Germany Mahsman Support
From their home base in Frankfurt, Germany, Rev. David and Lois Mahsman serve the Lord throughout Eurasia (Europe and the former Soviet Union). They work with other LCMS missionaries and Lutheran partners to reach people with the Good News about Jesus. David’s call includes facilitating Gospel outreach where needed most in the region; helping to develop a new ministry in Wittenberg, Germany; and working to improve communication among missionaries and partners and from the missionaries to the sending church.

Germany Ogg Support
Larry and Priscilla Ogg serve the Lord as missionaries in Germany. Larry is the regional business manager for LCMS World Mission in Eurasia. He takes care of the financial affairs for all LCMS mission fields in the region, as well as doing the accounting for the mission budgets. Please pray that God provide him with wisdom in his decisions. Your gift supports Larry and Priscilla in their extensive work in Eurasia.

Germany Rosin Support
Robert and Laine Rosin serve the Lord and the LCMS in Eurasia, as Bob serves in a shared-time arrangement with Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. Besides teaching in the region, Bob is looking for opportunities for other LCMS educators to teach. He also works in developing relationships with Lutheran institutions and serves as a consultant for LCMS theological education programs in Eurasia.

Germany Smith Support
Rev. Brent and Jennie Smith serve God and you as missionaries residing in Frankfurt, Germany. Brent serves as regional director for Eurasia, an area that includes Europe and the former Soviet Union. In this role, Brent provides leadership and support to the missionaries in the region, facilitates work and partnerships with national churches, and explores new possibilities for work among people who do not yet know the Lord Jesus. Your gift here helps all Eurasia work!

Germany Wittenberg Project
You can be part of a bold, new venture to share the Good News of Jesus and plant a Lutheran congregation in Wittenberg, Germany. Only about 13 percent of the 50,000-some population claims to be Christian. LCMS World Mission, LCMS World Relief and Human Care, Concordia Publishing House and the Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany (SELK), an LCMS partner church body, are collaborating on this unique opportunity. Give now to help bring the Gospel back to Wittenberg, the cradle of the Reformation.
