Giving Opportunities

Hungary: In 2000, Hungarians celebrated the 1,000th year of their conversion to Christianity. Today, 92 percent of the population is Christian. The Lutheran church lost many of its programs and facilities when the communists took over in 1920. Since 1989, the Lutheran church has regained eight high schools and its seminary.

European Volunteer Support
Your gift helps volunteer missionaries in Europe. Most volunteers serve for one or two years and most teach English. Volunteers have a powerful opportunity to reach people who see the English language as an opportunity to grow in their ability to study and excel in education and business. Many of their students are unreached or uncommitted Christians who need to hear the Good News that Jesus is their Savior. Volunteers do front-line evangelism and Bible studies.

Hungary Cusson Support
Sarah Cusson serves as a long-term missionary in Gyor, Hungary, where she teaches conversational English to elementary and high school students. Sarah seeks to always preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ through her words and actions, building relationships and serving the needs of the people that she is blessed to know and interact with. Your financial support enables Sarah to share the Gospel message with her Hungarian students and co-workers.

Wisroth Hungary Support
Leah Wisroth serves as an LCMS World Mission GEO missionary in Sopron, Hungary, where she teaches English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at Berzsenyi Lutheran High School. She builds relationships with her students and other teachers there, in and out of class, in order to share the love of Christ with them in word and deed.
