Giving Opportunities

Latvia: LCMS World Mission helped the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia start its own school of theological education. LCMS World Mission has also assisted the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latvia in many areas of outreach ministry. The Latvian Lutheran Church has an excellent two-year program for training lay leaders.

Garner Latvia Support
Kathleen Garner serves as a GEO missionary in Riga, Latvia. She is fulfilling her DCE internship through her missionary service by working with youth and families in the area. She builds relationships through Christ-centered education, which provides opportunities to declare God’s love and teach others about the Gospel. She also seeks to build up and encourage Latvian believers in their faith.

Latvia Kayser Support
Doris Kayser serves through LCMS World Mission as GEO missionary in Latvia. Her time in Latvia also serves as her deaconess internship. Doris works with the Diakonijas Center and other human care ministries of the Latvian Lutheran Church to offer consultation and practical help in the development and administration of human care ministries that work to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed.

Latvia Mark and Rose Krause Support
Rev. Mark and Rosalie (Rose) Krause serve the Lord in the Baltics. Mark is area facilitator for LCMS World Mission work in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. He is called to create mission awareness and support in American congregations and to provide counsel and encouragement to the Lutheran churches in the Baltics. Rose helps the church determine how property can be used to support ministry. Your gift allows Mark and Rose to continue their pioneering work in the Baltics.

Latvia Smith Support
Vicar Ben Smith serves as a GEO missionary through LCMS World Mission in Riga, Latvia. Ben leads English-language worship services and seeks to develop a permanent English-speaking congregation in Riga, which is Latvia's capital. He also reaches out with the Gospel to those whom he meets and interacts with, so that they may receive saving faith in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Your support allows Ben to continue reaching out to Latvians and many from all over the world as he serves in Riga.
