Giving Opportunities

Togo: Officially known as the Togolese Republic, Togo is between Ghana and Benin on the Atlantic coast of French-speaking West Africa. Tribal religions, based on animist beliefs, though in decline, are still major spiritual forces in nearly every people group. LCMS World Mission began work in Togo in 1980.

Togo Administration
Though “Administration” may not seem like a very exciting place to send your gift, it is absolutely necessary. This giving opportunity is "the one that gets it done" in Togo. Your gift here will provide whatever is needed most and fastest in this mission field where the number of Lutheran Christians literally increases daily! Give now and help get the Lord's work done in Togo.

Togo Fluegge Support
Rev. Glenn and Susan Fluegge serve God as missionaries in Togo, West Africa. The Fluegges are learning to speak and write French as well as the local dialect. Glenn’s primary responsibilities are in church planting and leadership training. He teaches at the Lutheran Center for Theological Studies and administers much of the work in Togo. Your gift supports the Fluegges in their service to God and you.

Togo ITE Program
Through the International Theological Education (ITE) program your gift will help 300 students from as many as six national churches in six countries to complete the first three courses of the first level of formation. It provides the books and assignments at a reduced price. Give to help French-speaking churches in Africa form their own leaders to meet the needs of existing congregations and church planting opportunities.

Togo National Church Organization
The Lutheran Mission in Togo works in partnership with the Togolese Lutheran Church, in order to accomplish God’s Mission. Your gift supports activities and expenditures that help them become a vibrant, independent, self-supporting body. Missionaries in Togo have found that two big factors greatly hinder the Church’s ability to get well-organized: chronic transportation and difficulties in communicating about what’s going on. Your gift will help!

Togo Property
Your gift helps with all sorts of property in Togo. "Property" includes not only land and buildings, but appliances used by missionaries in everyday living. It includes motorcycles that are used by guests and visiting professors, all sorts of tools, saws, wood, metal sheeting and other various things used to repair, install and fix. The Togo Mission is a good steward of its property, but every now then everything needs repair, maintenance or replacement.

Togo Reinhardt Support
Frederick Reinhardt is an ordained career evangelistic missionary serving in northeastern Togo. Serving as the mission’s business manager in Togo, Fred ensures that the field’s rents, bills and payrolls are paid and works in cooperation with The Lutheran Church of Togo. Fred also assists with theological education and training by planning and organizing theological seminars and teaching courses at the Lutheran Center for Theological Studies in the city of Dapaong.

Togo Theological Education Center
Lutheran Center for Theological Studies (CLET) is located in Dapaong, Togo. CLET serves the French-speaking West African Lutheran church bodies of seven countries: Togo, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Your gift helps develop an African seminary for an African church. The CLET program has two tracks—a pre-seminary track tailored for leaders who have little formal education and a track leading to ordination.
