Giving Opportunities

Panama: Panamanians hold varied religious backgrounds, but 88 percent claim to be Christian, of which three-fourths are Roman Catholic. Over the past two decades, evangelical Protestantism has grown nearly 20 percent both in number of members and in number of churches working in Panama.

Panama Church EFL
Your gift helps a volunteer missionary in Panama work as a relationship builder through teaching English as a Foreign Language. The volunteer's classes are an outreach ministry at the seven congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Panama. The volunteer rotates to different congregations every few months. Every class has a time to share the Word of God and local congregational members are present in the classes to build relationships with the non-members.

Panama Groh Support
Jorge and Olga Groh serve as missionaries living in Panama. Jorge serves as regional director for Latin America and Caribbean. His work includes providing leadership and support to the missionaries in the region, facilitating work and partnerships with national churches and exploring new possibilities for work in places the Lord Jesus is not yet known. Olga serves as coordinator for diaconal training projects as part of a joint effort between LCMS World Mission and LCMS World Relief and Human Care. Her work is to identify opportunities for diaconal training and service throughout Latin America and encourage and facilitate the implementation of human care projects in the region.
